Marrickville alteration and addition to weatherboard cottage to take advantage of northern sun and increase living areas for growing children.

Passive Design: Large North Facing Windows and Doors with Custom sun hood. Extra north facing windows to existing Kitchen, Southern louvred window for cross ventilation. Improved ventilation throughout.

Renewable Energy: 3kW Solar PV system.

Active Heating and Cooling: No additional heating or cooling.

​

Hot Water: kept existing Gas instantaneous. 

​

Water Saving: No changes to existing bathrooms or kitchen.

Windows and Glazing: All new Improved Aluminium Double glazed windows. 

​

Building Materials: Weathertex Cladding. Timber stud frame with R3 insulation to walls and ceiling.

Lighting: LED downlights to new areas.
